About Us

FARMINGTON SERVICE AND TOWING –
FOUNDED IN 1983

Serving the people of Farmington, UT is our number one goal.

Ken Wahlstrom, my father, arrived at Farmington Texaco around 1983. Back then, the establishment provided fuel, lube and oil changes, tune-ups, and various minor repairs. In the late 1990s, he made a significant decision and acquired the building, land, and business from their respective owners, renaming it Farmington Service and Towing. During this transition, the fuel pumps were removed, and the focus shifted primarily towards towing services throughout the 2000s, with a small team of technicians operating at the shop.

As we entered the 2010s, towing demand began to decline, prompting changes in our business strategy. In 2012, I was brought onboard to serve as the Service Advisor and Business Manager. My experience with auto repair had been gained during my teenage years when I worked here from 1999 to about 2004. I returned to work in 2007-2008 after completing my missionary service in Pennsylvania.

Together, we implemented a series of improvements to our services. We invested in modernizing our equipment, including AC machines, lifts, scan and diagnostic tools. Furthermore, we acquired an alignment machine to enhance our offerings and retain our loyal clients. In 2015, we collaborated with Jon Bamford and Reed Killam, using the RPM toolkit.

In 2020, we underwent a transformative shift in our operations with the adoption of Shop4D. This change allowed us to conduct more comprehensive vehicle inspections, which resonated well with our clients and received positive feedback. Today, we proudly operate as a comprehensive auto repair shop catering to almost all makes and models. Our specialization lies in providing exceptional services for Dodge, Honda, Hyundai, Jeep, and Kia vehicles.

What sets us apart from the competition is our unwavering commitment to transparency and integrity. We believe in keeping everything open to both our clients and employees, from inspection reports and estimates to our processes and policies.

We offer Valvoline Professional Services which means with each fluid flush service comes a limited warranty for 30,000 miles. Engine oil, transmission fluid, differential and transfer case fluids, brake fluid, coolant, and power steering fluid each have a unique chemical to clean the system prior to the removal of the contaminated fluid; then we fill each respective system to capacity with a full synthetic fluid selected for that specific make and model of vehicle. Valvoline also offers a warranty when any intake or fuel system is cleaned too.

Though we service almost all makes and models, it’s important to note that our capabilities for certain vehicles like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and Volvo are somewhat limited. However, we can still provide fluid service, brakes, steering, and suspension repairs for these models.
